St. James is committed to being a center for the arts for the Fresno community. The Cathedral hosts guest musicians, concerts, special performances, and other musical events. If you are interested in performing at St. James, please contact the Cathedral Dean.
Our Sunday School program fosters a vibrant, inclusive community where children can explore their faith, embrace their unique spiritual journeys, and develop lifelong friendships. We invite you and your children to become an integral part of our spiritual family.
The Altar Guild is a small group of men and women who are responsible for preparing the altar for Sunday worship and other ceremonies and for caring for the items and sacred elements (vestments, vessels, and altar linens) that are utilized in services.
A Eucharistic Minister is a lay person authorized to administer the consecrated elements at a Celebration of Holy Eucharist. To serve the sacrament of Christ’s precious Body and Blood to our brothers and sisters is a profound spiritual privilege beyond measure.
A very important part of our worship experience is hearing the stories of our faith and the wisdom of Holy Scripture. Lectors have an opportunity to assist with the liturgy by reading the scripture lessons from the Old and New Testament and leading the congregation in the Psalm.
Ushers at St. James provide a ministry of hospitality and assistance to all worshipers, giving extra attention and help to visitors or those with special needs. Hospitality is paramount in our Christian faith.
